The Arkansas Times featured a story called "Poetic Defiance" in their July "Best of Arkansas" issue, in which I was also named "Best Author" in its annual Reader's Choice "Best of Arkansas" Awards. Which is a trip. I've won "Best Poet" before, and I'm not sure what moved me into "author" category, but I'm grateful, and anytime anything like this happens, I wish my younger self could see his future.
