About the Moderator and Panelists

Dan Hendrick (he/him) is the author of Jamaica Bay, a local history book about the New York City estuary, and producer and writer of Saving Jamaica Bay, a documentary film narrated by Susan Sarandon. He is currently completing his first novel.

Edgar Gomez (he/they) is a queer NicaRican writer born and raised in Florida and the author of High-Risk Homosexual, winner of the American Book Award and a Lambda Literary Award. Their second book, Alligator Tears (2025), was praised by Publishers Weekly as “triumphant, dazzling, and unfailingly stylish.” Gomez divides their time between New York and Puerto Rico.

Danielle Bukowski (she/her) is a literary agent at Sterling Lord Literistic, representing acclaimed fiction and nonfiction authors including Edgar Gomez, Bryan Washington, Mariam Rahmani, and Tembe Denton-Hurst. She began her career in foreign rights and now brings over a decade of experience helping authors build long-term literary careers.

Jade Wong-Baxter (she/her) is an agent at the Frances Goldin Literary Agency, representing literary and upmarket fiction and narrative nonfiction. Her clients include Chris Belcher, Delia Cai, Hannah Matthews, and Courtney Preiss. She is particularly interested in queer identity, immigrant narratives, and stories rooted in underrepresented communities.

Bryan Borland (he/him) is the author of Brotherful and DIG, a Lambda Literary Award finalist and Stonewall Honor Book. He is the founding publisher of Sibling Rivalry Press and the founding editor of Assaracus: A Journal of Gay and Queer Poetry. His work bridges poetry and publishing through a belief in visibility, lineage, and the radical power of queer art.

Mo Crist (they/them) is an editor at Bloomsbury acquiring fiction and nonfiction with a literary and transgressive focus, especially by queer and trans authors. They have worked with award-winning and lauded writers including Joseph Osmundson, Eliot Duncan, Muriel Leung, Billy-Ray Belcourt, and Ilana Masad.
